Global Missions Weekend

Hope Church is a part of The Christian and Missionary Alliance, otherwise known as the C&MA or The Alliance. The C&MA is an evangelical denomination full of believers who long to introduce the love of God to all nations.

The late Billy Graham first served as an assistant/youth pastor in a C&MA church (The Tampa Gospel Tabernacle) in 1936-1937. His heart for missions, and for sharing the gospel, is consistent with our ongoing heart for all people to understand God’s plan of redemption. The Alliance was birthed in 1881 when Pastor A. B. Simpson organized a small group of believers devoted to experiencing Jesus in His fullness and making Him known to New York City’s marginalized dock workers.

The Alliance has always had a desire to follow God’s call, to bring His hope to the nations, and to carry out our vision of “All of Jesus for All the World.” By caring for suffering and overlooked people through 2,000 US churches and more than 700 international workers serving in 70 countries, the C&MA longs to see Jesus’ name proclaimed in every tribe and tongue to fulfill the Great Commission.

At Hope, we believe that Matthew 28:19 contains our God-given mission—to go and make disciples of all nations, to bring all of Jesus to all of the world. This weekend (October 4-6) we would like to invite you to join us for a special time of interaction with Brandon and Stephenie, who have faithfully served as C&MA workers in a difficult part of the world. I think that you will enjoy hearing about how God is using them and how we can partner together with them in the work they are doing.

The weekend will kick off with an event on Friday evening at 7:00 PM, which will feature an amazing selection of international desserts and a presentation by Brandon about the vision of Alliance Missions, as well as his and Stephenie’s ministry. On Saturday morning, there will be a home-cooked Men's Breakfast at 8:00 AM where the conversation with Brandon will continue. Saturday afternoon, a Soup & Salad luncheon for ladies is planned for 12:00 PM - Stephenie will be the featured guest and speaker! Brandon will preach the message on Sunday morning. Signups are not required to attend the Friday and Saturday events (but would be appreciated) - more information can be found here.

I hope that you will plan to join us for this special weekend.

Expectantly,

Shawn

P.S. Please join me in praying for Charlotte and Al Hartman, their family and friends, as they mourn the loss of Charlotte’s mother, Mary Chaplin. A service will be held here at Hope Church on October 12 to celebrate Mary’s life. Calling hours will be 9:30-10:55 AM, and the service at 11:00 AM. To view the obituary, please click here.
